INFANT BAPTISM CHANGES MY PERSPECTIVE
This weekend I had the great pleasure of presiding at a large infant baptism service for 7 infants with their parents, godparents, family and friends. There is a special joy i experience whenever I preside at such services.
Infant baptism changes my perspective on life and family life in particular. The happiness and pride of the mostly young parents and grandparents are contagious. The church is filled with hope and faith. The innocence and saintliness of the infants in their immaculately white garments fill my heart with love and joy.
In a world of increasing secularism with natural disasters, wars and rumors of war, the experience tells me in a big way – there is hope , all will be well. Light will push back the darkness and there is a dawn on the horizon.
I encourage everyone who has the opportunity to attend an infant baptism to do so. I assure you- you will leave with a new faith in God and in mankind.
