The Joy in Ministering to Friends
Last evening I had the pleasure of blessing the new home of a friend of mine for over 50years. It was a very moving experience attended by Sandee, our friends and his family. We also called a mutual friend, who now resides in Canada, and gave him a virtual tour of the house and a front seat via WhatsApp.
Since being ordained I have also been honored by friends by asking me to bless the meal and pose for a picture with them. There have also been many who have reached out and congratulated and encouraged me on social media.
This acceptance and support for my new role have been heart warming. These are persons who have known me since my teenage years and in one case since Primary school.
I think of Jesus visit to his hometown in Nazareth and his rejection. It is so easy to reject acquaintances , from growing up years, when they try to assume a new role. As Jesus later said to his disciples, who stayed with him, I now call you friends, I also call them true friends.
I thanks them for their friendship and support on my journey and ask them to continue to pray for me as I most certainly will pray for them
