Monday
Jesus wants to heal us ‘I do want to…’. he knows of our challenges and is empathetic. He is stretching out his hand to heal us of whatever is oppresing us. We must have faith and humility, like the leper in the Gospel. We bring to Jesus, all those aspects of our lives that are in need of healing - family members, illnesses, financial challenges, anxiety at work, fears and worries.
Tuesday
It is imperative that we participate in our healing. Without action on our part there will be no healing. Jesus tells the blind man ‘go, wash in the pool of Siloam’, and again he tells the cripple ‘take up your bed and walk’. The leper took the bold step of going to Jesus, kneeling before him and addressing him. The woman with the incurable hemorrhage approached Jesus in the crowd and touched the hem of his garment. He loves us so much that he has invited us into the act of healing.
Wednesday
In the journey of life, we all encounter moments that leave us feeling broken, wounded, or simply lost. Whether it's the pain of a past trauma, the weight of daily stressors, or the ache of broken dreams, the need for healing is universal. We can only be healed if we are willing to acknowledge our brokenness and come to Jesus for healing.
Thursday
Each person has the capacity to be an instrument of Jesus healing. We do this by sharing: a faith in the possibility of the impossible through Jesus Christ; a hope grounded in Jesus Christ that each life is precious in his sight and is destined to be saved; a love from Jesus Christ bringing humility, compassion and empathy to the relationship; a presence that fosters true connection and understanding deeply from the heart through genuine dialogue; a prayer that leads to an openness to Jesus’ healing touch, affirming the presence of God to inspire hope and alleviate anxiety.
Friday
By incorporating practical steps into our daily lives, we can follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ, experiencing healing, restoration, and wholeness in every aspect of our being. Remember, the journey towards wholeness is ongoing, but with faith and perseverance, we can walk confidently in the path laid out before us.
Week Seven Practice
The Road to Healing
In the spiritual life we acknowledge our brokenness, spend time in prayer and seek Jesus healing touch. We also become an instrument of Jesus healing through the Jesus qualities of our relationships.
