Through Closed Doors

Jesus comes through closed doors and stands among the disciples and says to them, ‘Peace be with you’. He also comes through our closed doors bringing peace.

But like the disciples who Jesus finds still behind closed doors, eight days later, we do not immediately internalize the meaning of Jesus’ resurrection.

Despite witnessing the miraculous events surrounding Jesus' resurrection, we may still find ourselves hiding behind closed doors of doubt, fear, or complacency, hesitant to fully embrace the transformative power of his victory over sin and death.

As I reflect on moments in my own life when I've wrestled with doubts about the boundless possibilities offered by the Risen Christ, I'm reminded of countless individuals who share similar struggles. I think of those gripped by fear, convinced that the challenging circumstances they face are insurmountable. I think of individuals plagued by doubts, questioning whether they possess the strength and capacity to truly transform their lives.

These moments of doubt and fear are universal, touching the lives of people from all walks of life. They serve as poignant reminders of the human tendency to underestimate the power of the Resurrection and the transformative potential it holds.

Jesus can come through the closed doors of our lives bringing peace and confidence. With the Risen Christ all things are possible. It is this belief and faith that beckons us to press forward, to confront our doubts with courage, and to embrace the truth that through the Risen Christ, we are empowered to overcome every obstacle and experience the fullness of life that awaits us.

Jesus patiently stands among us, offering the same words of peace and reassurance, inviting us to open our hearts to the reality of His Resurrection and to step boldly into the new life he offers.

As we open our hearts to the truth of His Resurrection, we find the strength to overcome our fears and embrace the abundant life he promises. Let us take his hand and walk forward with confidence, knowing that with him by our side, we can face any challenge and emerge victorious.
